MPLS Regional Chamber testifies in support of Drivers Licenses for All
A Minnesota House panel is hearing testimony on a bill that would allow people in the U.S. illegally to obtain a driver's license, a long-held goal of immigration advocates that may gain more traction this year in a Democratic-Farmer-Labor controlled state government.

On March 10th, 2020, Grace Waltz, VP of Public Policy, joined Michelle Rivero, Director, Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs, City of Minneapolis and other leaders to update the Minneapolis City Council on various initiatives promoting immigrant and refugee inclusion in Minneapolis, including the Gateways for Growth Challenge.

On June 16th, 2021, the Minneapolis Regional Chamber released a research report conducted by New American Economy that underscores the critical role immigrants and refugees in Minneapolis play in driving the region’s population growth, consumer spending power, and labor force.
New Twin Cities study outlines plans to improve immigrant, refugee experience.
Minneapolis and St. Paul city officials, community organizers, and business leaders participated in a study that offers solutions for helping immigrants and refugees. The report recommends expanding multi-language skills and improving police training. The findings will be presented to both city councils for implementation.
